We stayed at Moab Valley RV Resort & Campground while we were in Moab, Utah two weeks ago. It is located close to the entrance of Arches National Park and before you enter the town of Moab.
The campground has over 60 sites with hookups and water/dump stations. Their sites include deluxe, premium, and standard – depending on the size of your RV and amps needed. We noticed the premium sites had little sections of grass, which was nice, but not needed for us. There are also cabins and tent sites (even some with canopies) to rent. Free cable is included in your site, but we decided that a tv in the camper is a little too much “glamping” for us!
Likes:
- Location – we did not have to drive through town and were able to hit up the Arches and Colorado River easily.
- Online reservations – some of the Moab campgrounds actually make you call them, which makes me weary of them changing prices depending on the demand.
- Amenities- there is a playground, horseshoe pits, convenience store, hot tub & pool, dog runs, laundry facility, life size chess & checks, putting green, propane station.
- The pool and hot tub were already on – even though Stacy never thought to bring a swimsuit
- Free Wifi – it was spotty in some areas, but free is free
- The sites have a nice stone area with picnic table and BBQ grill.
- The dump station is located right on your site, so it was great to not have to find a place to empty.
- The front desk staff was super friendly.
- The campground is very much dog friendly, except for the fact that Bella did not like to do her business that close to the camper.
- The views were amazing!
Dislikes:
- The sites are very close together – it may be that we are just spoiled with some of the other places we have stayed.
- Which also makes us dislike the fact that the neighbor’s sewer pipe was right next to the picnic table. I guess maybe this is why some of the end sites are a little more expensive.
- There are a lot of people staying here (and probably every campground in Moab) that get up super early to go out on their UTV’s, so beware there may be noise.
Overall, we were happy with the campground. The dogs had a great time and the campground served the purpose for what we needed. We would stay her again if we were not going to do boondocking next time.
